Often referred to as flat feet, overpronation is a condition where the arch collapses when walking and begins to affect the tendons and joints over time.  Typical pain is in morning or after long activity or long boats of standing and has pain under and on inside of ankle and heel.  Flat feet can wear out a tendon called the posterior tibial tendon and cause further flattening

Flat feet can also aggravate or cause plantar fasciitis which is bottom of the heel pain

 

Treatments

-Medicines like anti-inflammatories, Medrol dose pack can help relief initial pain

-Orthotics OTC or custom to control arch position and relieve stress on joints and tendons

-Bracing- ASO and AFO braces like Ankle gauntlet or Richie bracing
